Cambodia has been poor of cashew nut processing facilities, until now only 5% of the total raw cashew nut (650,000 tons in 2023) have been processed annually for local and international markets and most of the cashew nut processors have not complied with international food safety and management system and consistently supply. The table below shows the average estimation of RCNs and Processed Kernels outputs from 2021 to 2024 in Cambodia.

There are Forty-two (42) Cashew Nut Processing Enterprises ranking from handcraft to factory across the countries and among them around eight (8) companies consist of international food safety system and management certificates, especially GHP and HACCP. However, most of them are relatively small in terms of processing capacity due to working capital, technologies, comitative price, and markets. The table below shows the annual processing capacity of the companies who received basic certificates of food safety and management system.
